When gambling debts prove deadly, down on their luck south Georgia couple Ty and Crystal hit the road to Mississippi to find both work and refuge with Crystal’s brother, Dwight. Convinced their adventure would make for profitable tabloid fodder as a “reality movie”, film enthusiast Ty brings a video camera to document their travels. Desperate for cash, with gangsters hot on their trail, the petty crimes they commit to bankroll their survival quickly turn serious, and soon they are in over their heads, and must rely on the help of some very unlikely good Samaritans to make it to Mississippi. However, things only get worse when they finally reach Dwight, and his world of low-level drug running proves more treacherous than anticipated. With no easy way out, Ty and Crystal must face the consequences of the past they left behind, and deal with the irreconcilable choices of their future, their lives in the balance.
