Marianne Hettinger
As a 5-year old in her home town of Augsburg, Germany, Marianne watched Gene Kelly’s “American In Paris” for the first time. That was the birth of her dream to come to America to pursue her passion for dance, acting and filmmaking. She wrote and performed her first play ‘Heaven & Earth’ off off –Broadway in New York at the tender age of 20. Since then Marianne has become a well-known New York actress and dancer (Latin and Theatre Arts Ballroom Champion in the USA and Canada and Broadway performer), having worked with Antonio Banderas, Tom Berenger, Tim Robbins, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick, John Stamos., Frank Oz, James Toback, Chita Rivera, Denis Leary and many others. As a writer/ director she recently finished shooting the short films ‘St.Vitus’ and ‘Shenanigans Point’. MANGO TANGO is Marianne’s feature debut.

They call her Simonya Popova, ” the hottest thing on the women’s tennis circuit” with a full page va-va-virtual photograph in Sports Illustrated of a blond bombshell too good to be true. But is she ? Yes… even better.
After the Al Pacino virtual-actress movie “Simone” fueled the Sports Illustrated Piece featuring Marianne’s femme fatale figure, talk is everywhere including the televised US Open, a feature in the New York Post and chat rooms across the country. But who is this this woman or is she too good to be true?

From “American In Paris” to “German In New York” she graduated on a scholarship from the National Shakespeare Company Conservatory in Manhattan and studied dance on a scholarship at Steps On Broadway as well as with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. From then on, using her varied talents, she wrote and acted in her one-woman-show
“Heaven & Earth” and wrote, directed and starred in her first film “Shenanigans Point”.
As a model she developed an extensive portfolio including Sports Illustrated, Elle, Men’s Health, Self, Harper’s Bazaar, The New York Post, The New York Times, many ads and appearances on national TV.
As a dancer she recently brought down the house in her solo performance for ” Broadway Cares” with Chita Rivera. She can be seen nationwide doing the tango in the Coldwell Banker commercial directed by Bob Giraldi and has been a solo guest artist with many symphony orchestras including The National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, the symphony at the National Arts Center Ottowa, the Toronto Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony and the Indianapolis Symphony. Marianne is also a professional ballroom dance champion in Latin ( American Rhythm), Theatre Arts and Hustle.
The versatile actress has done over 20 independent and feature films. Having worked with such acclaimed directors as Tim Robbins, Michael Apted, James Toback and Warren Leight. Her last feature ” Grown Ups” with John Stamos won an audience award at the San Jose Film Festival. She has a recurring role on “As The World Turns”/CBS and just did a reading of an original play ” La Boheme De Noel” by Stephen Kennedy Murphy ( artistic director of the Provincetown Playhouse-NY)at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
With still many dreams to fulfill, Marianne is grateful to be in a country where everything feels possible, even being Simonya Popova.
