Kate Perotti, born in New York, living in Los Angeles, continues to be integrally involved in many independent films, commercials and music videos. Kate was a still photographer in NYC before attending film school and is about to launch a still studio in the production company. Kate loves music, she produced a benefit music compilation CD, Schooloaf: Everything but the Crust Vol. 1, created and sold original websites as an entrepreneur, is an Los Angeles Emmy award winning documentarian as Director of Photography on Community For Caring, 1997 and was Executive Producer of best video at SXSW, 1997 for “Something to Brag About,” a track from the Schooloaf album by Exene Cervenka and Stone Fox. Kate has a BS cum laude degree in philosophy / art history / romance language and literature from Boston College and an MFA in film/video from CalArts 1993 where she completed the first digital graduate thesis project in the Live Action/Experimental film school. Kate will begin teaching hands on DIY workshops this fall.
